Explore the cultural diversity and stunning natural beauty of the Daintree Rainforest on our Daintree Indigenous Culture Tour. Throughout the day, you’ll get to experience the ancient canopies of the rainforest and learn more about the rich heritage that imbues the area.
Cooya Beach
We kick things off with a beautiful coastal stroll around Cooya Beach, taking in the lush mangrove plantations and the fascinating fishing history that still plays out here. Join one of the Kubirri Warra brothers as they show you around their landscape, taking you along sprawling beaches and through picturesque mudflats.
Before we leave, you’ll have the opportunity to gather food for your own lunch with the help of the Kuku Yalanji people.
Mossman Gorge Centre
Then, we’ll head to the Mossman Gorge centre for lunch, where you can try delicious local flavours and explore the spectacular works by local creatives in the on-site gallery. You might also want to pick up a souvenir or two to remember your time in the Daintree Rainforest.

Mossman Gorge
Once you’re refueled, we’ll move onto Mossman Gorge itself, where you’ll have a cultural welcome to the area via a traditional smoking ceremony held by the local Aboriginal people.
Afterwards, you can take a wander through the lush rainforest of the Daintree National Park and head to Mossman Gorge, a spectacular ravine in the landscape. You will get a guided tour across pretty public boardwalks and bridges that open out onto stunning viewpoints. Keep your eyes peeled for the native wildlife as you go.
Don’t forget to pack your bathers too, because you’ll have the chance to dip into the pristine waters of the nearby swimming hole – a great way to cool off in the heat of the Australian sun.
This one-day adventure doesn’t just expose you to some of Australia’s most mesmerizing landscapes, but it will also give you the chance to learn more about the rich and fascinating history of the region, including the ancient legends and traditions of the local Kuku Yalanji people who will welcome you into their world.
We’ll make sure you get to see all the good spots, including some of the area’s spectacular wildlife and stunning views. This tour is the perfect introduction to the Daintree Rainforest and its colourful cultural heritage.
