Sydney is famed for its pristine beaches, each of which brings visitors on Sydney tours something a little different. Whether you’re looking for a cool hangout, a place to try out surfing for the first time, or a hidden hotspot to catch some rays on, here are some of the best beaches in town.

      1. Bondi Beach
Bondi Beach might well be the most famous beach in the world. Though its reputation might have you thinking it’s packed full of tacky souvenir stores, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Sure, there are a great selection of bustling restaurants, cafes, and shops along its length, but there are also great opportunities for watersports and kicking back and relaxing.
      2.   Bronte Beach
From Bondi Beach, it’s just a 40 minute coastal walk to Bronte Beach, a quieter version of Sydney’s bustling stretches of sand. The sea here picks up plenty of swell, making it the ideal hangout for keen surfers. To the south-side, there is a pretty rock pool, where swimmers can take to the water and relax.
      3.   Gordons Bay
Tucked away between the popular beaches of Clovelly and Coogee, Gordons Bay is kind of a little oasis. Home to an impressive and colourful underwater nature trail that span 500 metres, it attracts a lot of divers and tourists who want to get to know Australia’s spectacular marine life.
     4.   Manly Beach
From Circular Quay, you can hop on the ferry and lay your beach towel down in Manly. Here, you can dip your toes in the turquoise ocean, stroll along the lively Marine Parade, or go snorkeling at Shelly Beach, a little cove tucked away from the hustle and bustle. At the weekend, be sure to check out the local arts and crafts market before tucking into the impressive foodie scene.

5.   Palm Beach

Palm Beach is characterised by a long strip of sand that runs alongside a picturesque golf course. Here, you can swim in the protected waters of the southern end or hop in the Olympic-sized ocean pool for something a little different. If you’re feeling hungry, grab a bite to eat at The Boathouse, where you can tuck into delicious dishes on the timber decking.
The beaches of Sydney are some of the best places to explore local life, whether you want to sunbathe, swim, or join the abundance of surfers who flock to the city’s shores every day.
