Kakadu National Park
On the first day you’ll be catapulted into the centre of the action at Kakadu National Park, but not before we’ve stopped off at the Windows on the Wetlands on the way. Here, you’ll be able to indulge in the beautiful views across the Adelaide River, taking in the sprawling lowlands and dipping valleys.
When we arrive at Kakadu, we’ll head out on a picturesque stroll through the Mamukala wetlands, where you can spot flocks of magpie geese amongst other cute critters.
Nourlangie
The Kakadu National Park is not just a beautiful natural location, it is also home to a rich and lengthy history. At Nourlangie, you’ll get to see some of the region’s famous rock art on a guided tour from a knowledgeable local. You’ll develop a deeper understanding of the
indigenous past of the park, and learn more about how art was considered one of the most important educational tools.
Gunlom Falls
After a quick pitstop for lunch near Yellow Water, we’ll head on to Gunlom Falls, which you might recognize from the Crocodile Dundee movie. Here, you’ll have the chance to climb the falls and take a refreshing dip in the pools at the bottom.
Litchfield National Park
On the third day, we’ll leave Kakadu and venture towards Litchfield National Park, another breath-taking hotspot in this nature-filled part of Australia.
Here, you’ll have the chance to discover the quirky termite mounds that the park is well
known for, as well as bask and bathe in a collection of waterfalls and rock pools.
Like Kakadu, Litchfield National Park is a haven of history, so you’ll also be able to learn more about its importance to the Wagait Aboriginal people, as well as explore its unique, impressive landscapes. Before the trip ends, you’ll have the opportunity to relax at Buley Rockhole, one of the region’s best-loved spots.
