Uluru is one of Australia’s most iconic landmarks. Standing proud in the stunning Red Centre of the country, this monument is fantastic for both its natural beauty and its rich Aboriginal heritage.
On our 1 Day Alice Springs to Uluru Tour, you’ll have the chance to explore all of this and more as we introduce you to this historic site. Throughout the day, we’ll venture from pretty Alice Springs to the sprawling plains of Kata Tjuta.
Uluru
Once there, you’ll be greeted by the lush red earth of the world-famous Ayers Rock surrounded by a surreal, ancient landscape that’s steeped in historic folklore and fascinating stories.
West MacDonnell Ranges
On the way from Alice Springs to Uluru, we’ll pass through the incredible backdrop of the West MacDonnell Ranges, stopping to refuel for breakfast at Stuarts Well. We’ll continue once more to the Mount Conner Lookout, where we’ll have a morning cup of tea before the adventure begins.
Kata Tjuta National Park
Then it’s time to enter the Kata Tjuta National Park, where you’ll be greeted by the impressive Uluru. We’ll take you on a walk around the base of the monument with a knowledgeable guide who will tell you more about this sacred site and its importance to the local Anangu people. You’ll head to Mutitjulu Waterhole where you can view Aboriginal rock paintings, too.
Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre
Afterwards, we’ll head to the Cultural Centre, where you can discover more about Tjukurpa, the law of the Anangu people. When you’re knowledgeable on these people and their history, it’s on to the towering domes of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) at Walpa Gorge.
Uluru Sunset
As darkness begins to fall, we’ll head back to Uluru to watch the display of colours unfold as we tuck into a traditional Aussie BBQ. You’ll get to watch the mesmerizing show with a glass of bubbly and stunning views.
Return to Alice Springs
We then return to Alice Springs, where the day-long adventure unfortunately comes to an end. We have no doubt that you’ll remember the rolling landscapes and the ancient stories of Kata Tjuta and its surroundings for a long time to come.
This tour is the perfect introduction to the Red Centre of Australia and some of the country’s most iconic landmarks, including the mesmerizing silhouette of Uluru itself.
