Lake McKenzie
Known as the ‘jewel’ of Fraser Island, Lake McKenzie holds many wonders in its crystal-clear waters. The area is a complete paradise, with lush greenery bordering the pure white sand that sinks down into the clear blue waters of the lake. It is a ‘perched lake,’ which means it sits above the island’s water table, without the continuous draining of water. This makes it highly acidotic and unliveable for most life, therefore no natural waste accumulates, and the lake remains completely pure. Maheno Shipwreck
In 1935, a travelling ship meets with a strong cyclone, ending up shipwreck on the shore of Fraser Island. Nowadays it is an iconic sight of rusting red, contrasting beautifully with the golden sand and sapphire waters nearby. The Pinnacles
The Pinnacles have both a natural beauty to it and being historic and important for the local aboriginal community.
