The day begins in Melbourne, where you’ll get to enjoy a picnic style lunch on the boat trip to Phillip Island. As we go, you’ll get to see the stunning scenery start to unfold right in front of you.
Maru Wildlife Park
When we arrive on the Island, we’ll head straight for Maru Wildlife Park, where you can hand feed Eastern Grey Kangaroos and get up close and personal with the cuddly koalas. You’ll also get to see emus, wombats, and dingoes, as well as a traditional Australia show of sheep shearing (at your own expense).
Chocolate Factory
Those with a sweet tooth will love the next part of our day. We’ll take a tour of the Chocolate Factory and grab tasty treat to keep you fueled up after you learn all about the chocolate making process on the Island.
Woolamai Beach
Afterwards, we’ll soak up some of the spectacular scenery as we travel to Woolamai Beach, a surf paradise. On the way, we’ll check out the Grand Prix Circuit and watch the colony of seals frolic on the rocks from the conservation cameras at the Nobbies. At the Nobbies Information Centre, you can learn more about the seals and the impressive landscape that characterizes this part of the Island.
The Penguin Parade
Then it’s time for the main show. As evening falls, we’ll head to Summerland Beach to watch the Penguin Parade, one of Australia’s most popular nature events. Every year, thousands of visitors flock to the beach to see the colony of Little Penguins that reside there waddle up the sands from the sea to their nests for the night.
You’ll not only get to witness this spectacle, but you’ll also get to learn more about the penguins, their habitat, and their behavior at the Visitors Centre.
When the penguins are safely in their nests for the night, we’ll start our trip back to Melbourne where the day unfortunately comes to an end. By this point, you’ll have loads of incredible photos and memories of this beautiful part of Australia to take home with you.
