With this comes an extensive array of international cuisines spanning the restaurants, markets, and stalls of the city, and bringing visitors and locals tastes from around the globe.
In Melbourne life, markets offer a place to kick back, relax, sample delicious flavours, and pick up some seasonal produce and then some.
From the 10thto the 27th November, Good Food Month is running throughout Melbourne, which sees the city bring a whole host of delicious flavours to its streets. Expect foodie-style performances, pop-ups serving street food, and everything in between.
For the entirety of the event, Melbourne’s beloved Birrarung Marr will take on a new life as an Asian hawker-style market for the popular event and become Melbourne Night Noodle Market.
This pop-up style event brings Asian food to the masses, enticing visitors with delicious smells and samples.
As well as an array of delicious new stalls that are popping up for the first time, a number of old favourites will be back, much to the delight of regular attendees. Expect to browse classics, like Wonderbao Red Spice Road and Hoy Pinoy, both of which will be serving up their signature dishes. New kids on the block include dumpling experts Din Tai Fung Delhi Streets, and Hawker Hall, which will be serving up new, but equally as delicious, flavours.
There’s some fusion delights to be snapped up, too. Diego Munoz from Astrid y Gaston (a.k.a. the number 14 spot on the best restaurants in the world list) will be serving up Peruvian Japanese dishes at the Lady Carolina pop-up, and there’ll be many other mouth-watering combos to try out.
Melbourne Noodle Night Market will be open from Thurs 10th November 2016 until Sunday 27thNovember 2016. Opening hours vary, so be sure to check before you go.
